ProRehab Physical Therapy Announces New Outpatient Clinic in West Louisville

ProRehab Physical Therapy (PRPT) announces the August 2016 opening of their 9th clinic at 902 South 15th Street. As the first outpatient physical therapy clinic in West Louisville, the South 15th Street location will serve as a collaboration between PRPT, St. Stephen Church and their Family Life Center, Simmons College of Kentucky, and Neighborhood Engagement Foundation.

Physical therapy services offered from the clinic will include both manual and orthopaedic physical therapy to reduce and prevent aches and pains in the musculoskeletal system, as well as spine care, workplace injury prevention, chronic pain management, and trigger point dry needling. Additionally, the PRPT staff will work collaboratively with St. Stephen Family Life Center to provide health screenings, prevention services, treatment for diabetes, and more.

Directing the West Louisville clinic is Karen Stringer-Phillips, PT, DPT, ATC/L, who also serves as the Head Athletic Trainer at Simmons College of Kentucky through their exclusive sports medicine provider partnership with PRPT. In addition to being a Certified Athletic Trainer, Dr. Stringer-Phillips specializes in orthopaedics, manual therapy, and sports medicine and has experience treating post-surgical spinal and orthopaedic conditions. Dr. Stringer-Phillips is also very involved in the West Louisville community and is active in the St. Stephen Church choir.

“ProRehab Physical Therapy’s mission is to find communities where there is a need for physical therapy. We have demonstrated this for many years including rural areas and our on-going clinic in Jacmel, Haiti, which we opened post earthquake. As a member of St. Stephen, I became aware that, surprisingly, West Louisville has never had a freestanding outpatient physical therapy clinic and approached Dr. Cosby about partnering on this initiative to include Simmons College of Kentucky. St. Stephen has been incredibly innovative in supplying a variety of services to West Louisville and we look forward to meeting the physical therapy needs and working in the California community,” said Dr. Larry Benz, ProRehab Physical Therapy Principal.

“Both Simmons College of Kentucky and St. Stephen Family Life Center are very pleased to expand the partnership with ProRehab Physical Therapy,” said Dr. Kevin Cosby, Senior Pastor at St. Stephen Church and President of Simmons College of Kentucky. “The sports medicine partnership has already been tremendously beneficial to Simmons’ student athletes, and I’m eager to see how the South 15th Street clinic serves the Family Life Center’s patients and the community as a whole.”
